Pieces bonded are easily separated.
| CAUSE |
SOLUTION |
| Cold Core or Face Stock/Low Room Temp./Short Pressure Period
| Avoid using stock below 60°F (16°C) temperature. |
| Consider using infrared lamps or hot air during pressing. |
| Increase press time. |
| Insufficient Pressure
| Use sufficient pressure for adequate squeeze-out and for intimate contact of panels. |
| Moisture Content of Stock Too Low or High
| Moisture content of core and face stock should be 6% to 10%, veneers 3% to 6%, to avoid excessive soak-in of adhesive. |
| Adhesive Spread Too Heavy
| Apply proper spread for adhesive being used and condition of stock. |
| Soft and porous stock may need heavier spread rate than dense stock as adhesive can soak in too quickly. |
| Poor Surface Penetration
| Avoid using high density face sheets. |
| Light sanding may assist penetration of adhesive. |
| Adjust planers to avoid planer marks. |
| Adjust saw blades to correct kerf marks. |
